Photograph the urban oasis of Mount Auburn Cemetery in the fall. Capture colorful trees, plants and shrubs awash in autumn splendor.

Timed to capture he beautiful fall colors (hopefully!), we will wander the iconic Mount Auburn Cemetery looking for the centuries old Japanese Maple trees and other colorful subjects. We will have the opportunity to photograph the nature within the cemetery such as Consecration Dell and Halcyon Lake. Mount Auburn Cemetery is an urban oasis and is the home to many species of birds and wildlife.

Recommended Equipment

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera

  • Lenses ranging from wide angle (16-35), mid-range (24-105), and a long telephoto (100-400)

  • Sturdy tripod & ballhead

  • Remote shutter release

  • Polarizing Filter

  • Extra batteries, memory cards

  • Comfortable walking shoes

Physical Difficulty

We will be walking throughout the cemetery. Attendees should be comfortable carrying their backpack or camera bag over pathways and potentially uneven ground. There are limited places to sit within the cemetery.
