Learn how to capture images of hummingbirds in flight, their iridescent beauty frozen in time. Hummingbirds are speedy and small. Being so fast and colorful, hummingbirds are challenging subjects to photograph, but when you capture them, it is a gratifying and rewarding experience.
This workshop is designed to build your confidence in bird photography. Learn about cameras, lenses, tripods, and other gear. Benefit from training on how to push beyond the auto mode of your camera, composing powerful images along the way. Field techniques include aligning with the sun and wind, tuning in to bird songs and behavior, and benefiting from your local birding community. This workshop is limited to 6 students only.

Mirrorless or DSLR camera body
Wider telephoto lens(70-200mm or 300mm)
Longer telephoto lens (200-500mm, 500mm or 600mm)
Tripod
Plenty of spare batteries/memory cards
Small stool which can be carried and moved if necessary
Physical Difficulty
We will need to walk to our shooting location. The area where we will be shooting has nature paths. These paths are unpaved and are uneven. There are no hills or anything strenuous. We will be doing a significant amount of waiting which will involve just standing, so a small stool would be useful.
