Timed to coincide with the spring migration, this wildlife experience at a premier birding location in the northeast offers opportunities to see the birth of cygnets, goslings, ducklings and more.


We will leisurely stroll along the paths and around the lakes of a special birding hot spot. This time of year, brings an abundance of wildlife, especially a large variety of bird species, from mute swans, great blue herons and great egrets to ducks and night herons to turtles to so many warblers, this workshop has something for everyone who enjoys being out in nature and capturing its beauty. The instructor will share a map and inside tips on target species and prime viewing locations. The group will then embark on a slow-paced exploration of the location.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to hold your camera and lens for optimum stability resulting in tack sharp images

  • How to best locate birds in flight in your view finder

  • The optimum exposure settings for capturing birds in flight vs bird portraits

  • The importance of background for your images

Recommended Equipment

  • D-SLR or Mirrorless Camera

  • Midrange Zoom lens (70mm-200mm full frame equivalent)

  • Long-range zoom or telephoto lens (150mm-600mm full frame equivalent)

Physical Difficulty

We will be walking on flat surfaces and through some puddles.
